Though it's undoubtedly hard for individuals living outside Germany to properly understand the country's intricate hard rock music scene, nearly everyone can appreciate good music when they hear it. This is why the German power metal band Gamma Ray has been able to achieve so much success and why countless metal fans outside of Germany love the band. The group first started playing together in the late 1980s, and although the band's sound has changed slightly to incorporate more of a modern tone, Gamma Ray has remained strong, managing to stay relevant despite the ever changing German hard rock sonic landscape.
