About

James Kent, who performs and releases music as Perturbator, is a producer and multi-instrumentalist who makes a new wave influenced style of electronic music that has been dubbed synthwave. Though Kent initially started his music career as a guitarist for several black metal bands, since 2012 he has been making electronic music that's strongly influenced by 1980s sounds and cyberpunk culture. Kent released his debut EP, Night Driving Avenger, in 2012 and has since continued to release material at a prolific rate.
