One of the more popular bands to blend modern hard rock influences with erstwhile folk instrumentation, Subway to Sally has managed to help pioneer a sound that combines old and new world tones. The German group has been making music together since the early 90s and its primarily known for its work in the medieval metal scene by incorporating instruments like bagpipes, shawm, lute and hurdy gurdy to create a fairly unusual amalgamation of sounds.
