The franchise cricket team, Punjab Kings (formerly known as Kings XI Punjab), represents the Indian state of Punjab in the IPL (Indian Premier League). The team was formed in 2008 and is one of the teams that has been part of IPL since the league's inaugural season. Many talented players like Karun Nair, Chris Gayle, K. L. Rahul and Sheldon Cottrell have been part of the team’s roster. The team's impressive performances have helped it garner massive fan support not just from Punjab, but also from its neighboring states. One of its milestones was becoming the runner up at the 2014 season of IPL which is also its biggest achievement. Punjab Kings is based in Mohali, Punjab and uses the city’s PCA Stadium as its home ground.
