Leonce and Lena is a German play, written in 1836, for a competition, by Georg Büchner (1813-1837). The young writer missed the deadline and his play will never be read. On May 31, 1895, almost 60 years after his death, the Munich Company played the satire comedy for the first time. The play is on two imaginary countries, the Kingdom Popo with its prince Leonce and, the Kingdom Pipi, with its princess Lena. Both kingdoms arranged their political marriage, but Leonce and Lena, make the decision to escape and avoid the wedding. But life can be full of surprises and the true love is never too far.
