Budapest Honvéd FC is one of the almighty football teams that rule the scoreboards at the Nemzeti Bajnokság I- the top tier football competition in Hungary. The team belongs to the popular sports club Budapest Honvéd and was formed in 1909. The legacy of the team's victories began with the Magyar Kupa, which they won in 1926. For many years the team was unable to recreate such a success, but it all changed after 1950 when it became the Hungarian Army team. The same year, it won its first Nemzeti Bajnokság I title and many more followed.
