About
Un fil à la patte is a French bedroom farce written by Georges Feydeau. Premiered in 1894 at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal in Paris, the play is considered as one of Feydeau's masterpieces. The story follows a man named Fernand de Bois d'Enghien, who is in a long-term relationship with singer Lucette yet plans to marry with Viviane, the daughter of the rich Baroness Madame Duverger. Comedy ensues when Fernand tries to split up with the unsuspecting Lucette on the day of his wedding. There have been various renditions of this slapstick comedy, including a 2015 production directed by Jérôme Deschamps.
