Barry Douglas is a contemporary classical pianist who has distinguished himself among his peers after winning the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in 1986. While growing up, he studied cello, clarinet and organ but found his signature instrument in the piano. Douglas is known for his recordings of the five Beethoven piano concertos as well as for his work conducting the Camerata Ireland Orchestra.
