AS Saint-Etienne (Association Sportive de Saint-Etienne Loire) is a French soccer team founded in 1919 and based in the city of Saint-Etienne. Stadium Geoffroy-Guichard, has been the club's home since 1931. However it did not get its own training center until 1997. St Etienne has several Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles to its credit. During its history the club has had notable players, such as, Michel Platini, Laurent Blanc, and Aimé Jacquet. The official colors of St Etienne are green and white, and is nicknamed "Les Verts" (The Greens), while their team anthem is called "Allez les Verts". Its primary rival is l'Olympique Lyonnais (OL).
