Singapore Sling

Singapore Sling is a shoegaze band that emerged out of Reykjavik, Iceland. Taking its name from a 1990 art film by Nikos Nikolaidis, the band formed in 2000 and mastered a blend of noise pop, alternative rock and neo-psychedelia. The band's debut album The Curse of Singapore Sling, was released in 2002 and subsequently picked up by the indie label Stinky Records, who brought the album to North America the following year. With an international following among psych audiences around the world, Singapore Sling continues captured its noisy, reberb-soaked rock and roll on records like 2010's Singapore Sling Must Be Destroyed and 2014's The Tower of Foronocity.
