Chui Wan is an experimental psych band that was formed in Beijing in 2010. Taking its name from a Daoist philosphoer named Zhuangzi’s “Qi Wu Lun,” the group crafts lush songs out of the improvisational meanderings of its leaders, guitarist Liu Zinyu and multi-instrumentalist Yan Yulong. With a rock solid rhythm section in bassist Wu Qiong and drummer Josh Feola, Chui Wan blends various instruments and samples into a minimal yet layered neo-psychedelic sound.
