Tiger at the Gates is the English translation of the 1935 French play La guerre de Troie n'aura pas lieu. Written by Jean Giraudoux, this two-act tragedy narrates events preceding the Trojan War of Troy. Desiring peace, the Trojan military commander Hector struggles to avoid war with the Greeks. He tries to convince his brother to release his captive to Greece. As events unfold, lies and deception work their way through the forces of Troy and a seer's prediction of destruction come true.
