About
Yasmine Hamdan is a singer/songwriter and electronic music producer who was born in Lebanon. She rose to attention while living in Beirut as one-half of the duo Soapkills, one of the first indie electronica bands to emerge in the Middle East. The band's infectious, innovative songs left a deep cut on the region's underground scene. After relocating to Paris, she collaborated with Mirwais of Taxi Girl to form the duo Y.A.S. In 2013, Hamdan finally released her own solo album Ya Nass, in 2013, combining her own Arabic roots with trip hop and electronica.
