On the Town is a musical theater production that follows the story of three American sailors who are granted a 24-hour shore leave in New York City. Originally produced on Broadway during the war-torn year of 1944, the show is driven by an overwhelming sense of hope as each sailor meets a woman and experiences the awkward thrills of falling in love. With music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, On the Town has been immortalized in film and revived on Broadway several times, including a 2014 run.
