Annie Lennox is a singer/songwriter from Scotland who has used her distinctive voice to translate her music into various styles over a decades-long career. From her beginnings with the new wave outfit The Tourists in the 1970s, to her days as one-half of the sythpop duo Eurythmics in the 1980s and the soul-driven pop rock that became her signature sound, she's cultivated a diverse, international following. Lennox released her debut solo album, Diva, in 1992, spawning several hit songs like "Walking on Broken Glass" and rising as one of the alternative queens of the 1990s. While many of her contemporaries in the 1990s have dropped off the map, she has evolved and matured with the ever-shifting landscape of entertainment while remaining true to her own voice. Between releasing albums, such as 2014's Nostalgia, she is renowned as a philanthropist and political activist for raising awareness of HIV and AIDS in Africa.
