Wild Beasts is a band that's probably best known for its two lead singers' distinctive countertenor voices. The group's indie rock instrumentals are oftentimes overlooked due to the grandiose falsetto of one half of the group's lead singers Hayden Thorpe, but the backing members showcase an impressive knack for creating stunning, rhythmically centered sonic backdrops that balance the melodrama in Thorpe's voice. The group was founded in 2002 in England and has gone on to receive critical acclaim for its albums and engaging stage shows, with many publications declaring Wild Beasts as the revival that the indie rock genre desperately needs.
