The club is one of the strong contenders in the Serie B. But it gathered its biggest achievements during its time in the Serie A, where it also won the title multiple times. The club is also popular for the fierce rivalry it shares with the LDU Portoviejo. Manta FC can be seen playing its home games at Estadio Jocay.
