Club Deportivo Cuenca is a football club that plays in the Serie A, which is the top-tier competition in the Ecuadorian football structure. It was founded in the city of Cuenca in 1971. During the initial decades of its career, the club was unable to create major waves. But things changed in 2004 when the club won the Serie A title. This bought the club attention from the media and much love from its fans. Since then, the club has become one of the worthy contenders in the league.
