Written by Roddy Doyle and based off of his novel of the same name, The Commitments is a musical theater production that follows the endeavors of Jimmy Rabbitte, a music enthusiast who is determined to manage the best band in the world. Sick of what he percieved as the phony music in Ireland, he puts together a group in the vein of soul legends like Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding. With classic songs like "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" making up soundtrack, the jukebox musical will resonate with any fans of soul and classic rock and roll.
