The Golden Bears represent the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of the University of California in Berkeley, California. As a member of the NCAA's Division I, the university competes in the Pacific-12 Conference, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Cal has developed a sturdy athletic reputation over the decades thanks in large part to its baseball and football programs, which have both claimed multiple national championships. Other men's and women's programs sponsored by the university include cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, field hockey, basketball, golf, tennis and rugby.
