Brøndby IF is a Danish football club that represents the city of Brøndbyvester in the Superliga. Founded in late 1964 following a merger between Brøndbyøster IF and Brøndbyvester IF, it was promoted to the professional level for the first time in 1977. The club hit a purple patch in the late 1980s and went on to win all ten league titles between 1985 and 2005. The club performed well on the international front as well during this time and in 1991 became the first-ever Danish club to reach a European semi-final. The club plays its home fixtures at the Brøndby Stadion.
