Heavy Petting Zoo is a five-piece outfit that blends garage rock and post punk into one sludgy yet atmospheric style. Hailing from the coastal city of Swansea, Wales, the band cultivates the languid, massive movements of the Bristol Channel to infuse its music with subtle elements of surf rock. Led by vocalist Amy Zachariah, the group never gives itself over to the sunny side of that genre, as its dark, jarring melodies stand at the forefront of its songs.
