The crown jewel of Czech Republic football, AC Sparta Prague is undoubtedly one of the country's best clubs. Established in 1893, the team was quick to add its name to the list of the country's elite clubs and it became a dominant force by the 1940s. Boasting a record number of Czech First League and Cup titles to its credit, the Sparta Prague stands amongst the most successful football clubs in Europe. As impressive as its domestic record might be, its run in European competitions has also been of equal quality, even though it is yet to win silverware on the continental level. Playing its host at the Generali Česká pojišťovna Arena, the stadium has been home to several legends including Petr Čech, Tomáš Rosický and Jan Koller.
