Prolific fiddler Michael Cleveland is a traditional bluegrass artist whose music showcases the dynamic nature of the American roots genre. After making a name for himself as a solo artist through critically lauded records like Flame Keeper, the 2002 International Bluegrass Music Association Instrumental Album of the Year, he formed his own backing band, Flamekeeper. Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper released its first album Leavin' Town, in 2008 and has since continued to drop new records, such as 2011's Fired Up, with Cleveland's long-time label, Rounder Records.
