Schoolyard Heroes is a alternative rock band from Tacoma, Washington that was formed in 2000. The group managed to make somewhat of a name for itself in 2003 after winning second place at Experience Music Project's Sound Off! Competition, a battle of the bands of sorts in the Seattle region. Schoolyard Heroes continued to build momentum for itself after releasing its well received sophomore effort, Fantastic Wounds, in 2005. While the group decided to call it quits in 2009, the band announced its first reunion show in 2014 at Seattle's Bumberhoot Festival.
