Club Deportivo Saprissa competes in the Liga FPD- the top-tier football league in Costa Rica. It was formed in 1935 and was named after one of its more important founders. The team debuted in the league in 1949 and its popularity skyrocketed ever since. The team has won the Liga FPD title many times. Its performances and wins in the CONCACAF Champions are also worthy of praise. There are many other wins next to this team's name and all of them have helped it become one of the best teams in Costa Rica.
