Asociación Deportiva Municipal de Pérez Zeledón is a football team that competes in the Liga FPD, which is the top-level football league in Costa Rica. The plays its home games at the Municipal Pérez Zeledón stadium. It was founded in 1962 in the district of San Isidro de El General at Pérez Zeledón and paved its way into the Second Division in 1976. The team underwent a major change during 1991 when it was merged with the Asociación Deportiva Municipal Generaleña- an impressive team which played in the Liga FPD and was also based in Pérez Zeledón. Soon the two forces started playing as one team in Liga FPD and have since gone on to become a dominant force.
