The Common Linnets

After a joint performance in 2013, Ilse DeLange and Waylon decided to nominate themselves as Dutch representatives for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen; The Common Linnets was born. Strongly influenced by country and Americana, the duo entered the European competition with their song "Calm After The Storm." The song was well-received in their home country and won several national music prices. In 2014, The Common Linnets finished second at the Eurovision Song Contest, earning the best Dutch result since 1975. After the contest, its eponymous album The Common Linnets was released. Despite Waylon's solo projects, The Common Linnets continues to record and perform new music.
