Richard John Martinelli is a Southern California born and Denver, CO-based emcee who is known by his stage name Reason the Citizen. With a reputation for his quick-fired and often satirical delivery, he combines his sharp tongue and natural comedic timing to craft his own alternative sound and non-traditional live shows. After honing his skills in Oceanside, CA and relocating to Denver, he released his first solo album Survival Plus, in 2006, quickly finding a niche for himself with the independent artist collective Fameless Entertainment. With the help of his peers, he dropped the acclaimed LP, Broke For Free, in 2009, and quickly rose to the international stage at festivals such as Austin's South by Southwest festival.
