Sikth

A key figure in progressive metal's djent movement of the 2000s, Sikth is a heavy metal outfit that emerged from Hertfordshire in 1999. Blending post hardcore elements into a progressive metal foundation, the band dropped its debut album The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait For Something Wild, on Gut Records in 2003. Armed with syncopated riffs filled with muted yet massive chords, Sikth made use of its virtuosity technical complexity that was rivaled by few bands of the time. Though it disbanded in 2008, the group reunited in 2014 to play that year's Download Festival, its first gig since 2007.
