Seattle-based outfit Special Explosion crafts its own brand of dream rock with distinctive elements of shoegaze and emo. Comprised of four artists who came of age during the emo, post-hardcore early 2000s, the band allows its roots to color its music, resulting in a brand of indie rock that could have only come about during the mid-2010s.
