Ismael Miranda, who was born on February 20, 1950, in Aguada, Puerto Rico, and grew up in New York City's East Village, is a prominent Puerto Rican salsa singer and songwriter, affectionately known as "El Niño Bonito de la Salsa" (The Pretty Boy of Salsa). He demonstrated his musical abilities early in life, forming groups such as "The 4J's and Little Junior" and "The Class Mates" during his youth. Miranda made his recording debut in 1967 with Joey Pastrana and later took on the role of lead singer for Larry Harlow, co-creating hits like "El Exigente." His career took a significant turn when he joined the Fania All Stars in 1969, and by 1973, he had founded his own band, Orquesta Revelación, which released the album "Así Se Compone Un Son." Throughout his career, he has worked with esteemed artists like Willie Colón and Sonora Matancera. In 2003, he performed at the iconic Copacabana nightclub in New York and continues to tour actively. His discography is rich with numerous albums, highlighting his significant contribution to salsa music.
