Associação Portuguesa de Desportos is a football team based in the city of São Paulo and it uses the Canindé as its home ground. The team is also known as Portuguesa and Lusa and it competes in the Campeonato Paulista Série A2. Founded in 1920, the team was actually the result of unification between five Paulista clubs of São Paulo’s Portuguese community. It was originally named Associação Portuguesa de Esportes but was later renamed to its current name in 1940. The team has a long list of achievements to its name, but the most important ones include winning the Rio-São Paulo Tournament, São Paulo State Championship and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B.
