The Backyard Committee is a band from New Haven, Connecticut that's led by chief singer/songwriter and guitarist Mike Sembos. Blending a distinct roots-rock instrumental approach with a contemporary, alternative rock sonic palate, the band has managed to grow into a fairly recognizable act on the New England college rock scene. Though The Backyard Committee released it self-titled debut LP in 2010, the group didn't truly find its musical footing until it dropped its sophomore effort, the concept album Festival, in 2013.
