Best known as the team where the legendary Pelé spent most of his footballing days, Santos FC have maintained its status as one of the best teams in South America. Since it was established in 1912, the team has stood amongst the best in the continent, if the not the world. Winners of several prestigious honors including the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Copa do Brasil and Copa Libertadores, it was also the first clubs to win the continental treble and the first club in world football to reach the 10,000 goal milestone. Apart from Pelé, the Santos FC academy has also created a number of world class footballers such as Gabriel Jesus, Neymar and Robinho.
