Vampirates is a punk band from Reno, Nevada that was founded in 2003. Initially started as a simple means for friends to get together, drink beer and jam, the band gained momentum as these sessions started becoming more and more concrete--resulting in the band's 2004 debut EP, Summer Ale. Having since toured the nation several times over, opening up for larger mainstream-courting rock acts, Vampirates has built a solid reputation for itself amidst the larger national punk scene. Though the band's slowed down a bit since its formative years, it nevertheless frequently plays low profile gigs in its native Reno.
