SC Riessersee

SC Riessersee is one of the most successful ice hockey teams in Germany and it currently plays in the Oberliga. It is widely known for reigning the German championships for many decades from 1927 to 1981. The team is based in the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and it plays its home games at the Olympia-Eissport-Zentrum. The team belongs to the sports club of the same name and was founded in 1923. It has won the German championships numerous times and is also a proud winner of many other laurels like the German DEV Cup, Oberliga league and more. Many of its former players such as Ignaz Berndaner, Hans Rampf, and Joachim Ziesche went on to become a part of the “German Ice Hockey Museum’s Hall of Fame.”
