Ural Thomas has been a purveyor of soul music since the the mid-1960s. Based in Portland, he was a key player in both the international rock and roll and R&B music scenes back when the two genres existed side by side in terms of style and raw power. Having opened for the Rolling Stones at the band's first US gig, and played along with Otis Redding at one of the R&B legend's last gigs, he has solidified himself in the musical history of the world through his own solo work and his stints with outfits like The Kingsmen and Paul Revere and the Raiders. Despite his disenchantment with the entertainment industry after a turbulent period of cut-throat deals and shady managers, he returned in 2013 for the second act of his career, this time backed by a 9-piece band he calls The Pain.
