Plantrae is a producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Portland, Oregon who creates a distinctive style of music by blending various folk and electronic styles. Though Plantrae released his debut album, Taproot, in 2013, he is primarily known as a live performer. Building an organic sounding sonic foundation, during live performances, Plantrae plays a viola and often uses improvisation to add a level of musical spontaneity to his songs.
