Comprised of John Wilkins and Clay Walton, Fires Were Shot is a group that makes ambient folk music with acoustic guitars and a few effects pedals. Blending post-rock instrumental sensibilities with elements of ethereal folk, the duo has managed to find a unique sonic fingerprint. Though Wilkins and Walton have known each other since childhood and have played in numerous musical incarnations, they didn't manage to realize their sound as Fires Were Shot until 2004, when the duo released its debut LP, Solace.
