Upon first glance, Audion is simply one of many aliases adopted by Detroit's electronic music prodigy Matthew Dear. While Dear has made a several names for himself with his experimental pop, minimal techno and hard dance floor sounds, Audion is perhaps his grimiest project yet. He introduced the moniker in 2004 with the singles "Kisses" and "The Pong," offering a devastating barrage of washy synthesizers and dirty beats. Audion released his debut LP, Suchfish, in 2005 and has since continued to expand his dedicated following with his signature Detroit techno style.
