The Wellington Phoenix is the only football club from New Zealand that plays in the Hyundai A-League. Established in 2007, the team's history is peppered with several memorable moments, even though it has never won a major trophy. Wellington Phoenix played its best season in 2009-10, when it became the first team from New Zealand to reach the playoffs of the Australian primier divison.
