The D-Fenders were based Los Angeles and it was affiliated with the Lakers. In fact, it was the first team to be completely owned by a NBA franchise. The fruitful association provided the NBA's Lakers with plenty of talent since its foundation in 2006, though the club never won a D-League championship. The D-Fenders played their home games in El Segundo, at the Toyota Sports Center and the team colors followed those of the Lakers - purple, gold and white.
