Ensemble TROIKA is a classical music and acrobatic dance company based near Lyon. In Russian, "Troika," among other things, refers to a dance step. It is no wonder this prestigious group chose this term for their name, as it reflects the ensemble's mission to promote Russian and slavic music, dance and culture. Under the direction of Alexeï Birioukov, the company tours worldwide, presenting a broad range of Russian folksongs like the "Kalinka," pieces by Liszt, Borodine and continuing the rich history of Russian ballet, folk and gitane danse. A phenomenal and awe-inspiring celebration of slavic song and dance.
