About

The franchise that became the Utica Comets has one of the longest tenures within organized hockey throughout the entire world. Established in 1932, the club was initially a Québécois team called the Quebec Beavers. The team shuffled around the U.S. for the next seven decades with stints in Syracuse, Springfield, Peoria and Worcester until finally arriving in Utica during the 2013 season. In 2014-15, the Comets won the division as well as the Robert W. Clarke trophy when they were in the Western Conference, however they lost to the Manchester Monarchs (1-4) while playing for the Calder Cup.
