Jack Black is a comedian, musician and actor from Los Angeles who began to earn widespread recognition after his breakthrough role in the 2000 film High Fidelity. Though he is best-known for his comedic roles in movies like School of Rock, Tropic Thunder and Nacho Libre, he has also starred in some dramatic roles, such as the scheming director Carl Denham in Peter Jackson's 2005 version of King Kong. As a musician, he has been playing alongside guitarist Kyle Gass in the rock comedy group Tenacious D since 1994. The duo released its eponymous debut album in 2001 and continues to record and perform new music.
