Holly Miranda is a singer/songwriter from Detroit who maintains a well-respected solo career while also being a member of the popular indie act The Jealous Girlfriends. After dropping out of school and moving to New York City at the age of 16, she started performing her emotive folk-influenced material in several venues around the city, quickly making a name for herself. Miranda released her debut album, High Above the City, in 2004 and the album established the talented songsmith as a musical force to be reckoned with.
