About

The Reflektors is the well-known guise of the pioneering Canadian rock band Arcade Fire. Adopted in 2013 during the promotion of the band's fourth studio album, Reflektor, the pseudonym first appeared when Arcade Fire scheduled a "secret" show in Montreal under the mysterious moniker, instructing fans to show up at 9pm for nine dollars in a mandatory formal wear or costume dress code. The ten-piece outfit showed up with giant papier-mâché heads, made familiar in the music video for "Reflektor," and continued to play new tracks off of the forthcoming album. The mystery surrounding the name eventually faded as the group played more shows and television spots as The Reflektors, demonstrating with more attitude and punchier tunes that dancing and a bit of fun are potent vaccines to the often dismal condition of the modern man.
