Leo Nucci is an Italian operatic baritone who has distinguished himself by performing in a number of operas written by the famed Italian romantic composer Giuseppe Verdi. Born and raised in Castiglione dei Pepoli, near the city of Bologna, Nucci studied under Giuseppe Marchese and made his operatic debut in 1967 as the iconic figure Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
