About
El Rastro was written by well-known Mexican writer Elena Garro. Critical of traditional conceptions of masculinity, this tragic play presents the character of Adrián Barajas, who idealizes his mother but at the same time demonizes his wife and ends up killing her. Taking a symbolist form, the work also reflects on the fate of the country of Mexico.
